Brooklyn Beckham is embroiled in a legal dispute with German brewer Beck’s after attempting to trademark the name ‘Becks Buns’ for his hot sauce brand, Cloud23. The drinks company, owned by Brauerei Beck & Co, has filed to block the trademark and secured a one-month extension to submit formal opposition paperwork, according to The Sun.
The 26-year-old launched Cloud23 last autumn, with two varieties—Sweet Jalapeño and Hot Habanero—named after the number 23 shirt worn by his father David Beckham at Real Madrid and LA Galaxy. The brand is sold in Whole Foods across the UK.
The trademark snag comes amid reports of a strained relationship with his family. A source claimed Brooklyn “wants no contact” with his parents and siblings, and that he learned of his father’s forthcoming knighthood via media reports rather than from family. However, a source close to Brooklyn denied the narrative, stating: “Everyone’s focus should be David Beckham’s great honour.”
Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz have been at the centre of a highly publicised feud with Victoria and David Beckham. The couple were absent from David’s 50th birthday celebrations last month. In a recent magazine shoot, Brooklyn appeared to have covered a tattoo reading “mama’s boy” with a floral design believed to represent Peltz’s wedding bouquet.
