The 26-year-old posted a black-and-white photo of himself kissing Nicola, 31, on February 15, a day after Valentine's Day. The caption read: 'Happy Valentine's Day baby x I am the luckiest person in the world to be able to call you my valentines every year x I love you more than you know and I will forever protect and love you x.'
However, the gesture was met with mockery from some followers. One user commented: 'Am I the only one who thinks this is weird?' Another wrote: 'Didn't you guys want privacy?' A third added: 'Is this the privacy what you wanted?'
Nicola also shared her own tribute on Instagram, writing: 'Love you more every day! ! I'm so lucky I get to call you my forever Valentine.'
The backlash comes amid a reported family dispute involving Brooklyn's parents, Victoria and David Beckham, whom he has described as 'controlling'. Gordon Ramsay, a family friend, recently advised Brooklyn to 'remember where you came from'.
