Britney Spears has been seen in public after being photographed in the back of a car. It comes as the star continues to deal with the fallout of being told to complete a driving under the influence (DUI) class.
Rare Public Sighting in Thousand Oaks
The Piece of Me songstress, 44, was seen being driven around by a chauffeur through her hometown of Thousand Oaks in California. She was spotted in the front passenger seat of a large black Mercedes, wearing a wide-brimmed hat and large sunglasses. Despite the attempt to remain anonymous, she appeared in a cheery mood, smiling and laughing with the young driver.
This is one of the most recent public appearances Britney has made since her arrest in March on suspicion of driving under the influence. The incident led to a three-week stay in rehab.
Legal Resolution and Probation
In May, the Toxic hitmaker accepted a "wet reckless" plea deal in court, reducing her DUI charge to reckless driving. As a result, she was sentenced to 12 months of probation, a fine of $571, and an education class on DUIs.
Concern Over Social Media Posts
Fans have raised concerns after Britney shared a series of bizarre posts on Instagram in recent weeks. In each upload, she rambled relentlessly, making outlandish claims, including one that a thief had stolen cash and many of her clothes. Since then, she has gone quiet on social media.
Support from Her Sons
Despite the strange uploads, Britney's sons have made a conscious effort to support their mother. Speaking to Vogue in an interview on July 2, son Jayden, 19, revealed that Britney had been "so nervous" for him and his brother to make their debut at Men's Paris Fashion Week earlier that month. "She was just looking out for us and making sure that this was what we wanted to do," he explained. "She sent us flowers to our hotel as a good luck thing, and called and texted us so many times. It was good to have that and to carry that with us before we went out there."
