Sam Asghari, the ex-husband of pop star Britney Spears, is planning to release a tell-all memoir that will detail his version of events from their seven-year relationship, according to a source. The book aims to ‘lift the lid on what really went on inside Britney’s home’ and address the public scrutiny he faced after their split in July 2023.
Asghari, 31, met Spears, 43, on the set of her music video ‘Slumber Party’ in 2016, and they married in June 2022 after the end of her conservatorship. However, he filed for divorce just over a year later, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was finalised in May 2024.
The source claims that Asghari’s non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with Spears has been lifted, allowing him to speak openly. He reportedly believes that ‘various people involved in her life need to be exposed for failing the star’ and wants to provide insight into how he tried to help her. The source insists he is not on a ‘mission to destroy Britney’ but wants to ‘set the record straight’.
Since the split, Asghari has moved on with real estate agent Brooke Irvine, while Spears has had an on-off relationship with former housekeeper Paul Soliz. Spears released her own memoir, ‘The Woman in Me’, in 2023, in which she praised Asghari as ‘such an inspiration’.
The source adds that Asghari still cares about Spears’ wellbeing and hopes the book will serve as an ‘olive branch’, portraying her ‘in the kindest light possible’ while being ‘honest and raw’ about their time together.
