Britney Spears Denies Ex-Husband Kevin Federline’s ‘Gaslighting’ Book Claims

Britney Spears has denied fresh allegations made by her ex-husband Kevin Federline in his upcoming tell-all book You Thought You Knew. The singer, 43, slammed the claims as “gaslighting” in a statement on social media, after earlier excerpts alleged she watched their sons sleep while holding a knife.

According to reports citing the book, Federline, 47, claims their son Sean Preston, 20, said Spears “punched him in the face”. The former dancer also alleges Spears bleached the boys’ hair to the scalp, causing burns, and that Sean once asked why she forced him to bathe with her when he was around 10 or 11. Another allegation claims she gave their younger son Jayden James, 19, shellfish despite knowing he was allergic.

One of the most explosive passages describes an incident in 2006, when Federline allegedly walked in on Spears doing cocaine with an unnamed actress in his dressing room while she was still breastfeeding. He claims he told her not to breastfeed the children in that state and to get formula instead, to which she reportedly threw a drink in his face and left. Federline says he then called Spears’ mother and later drafted a legal letter demanding she stop breastfeeding.

Spears, who shares both sons with Federline, responded on social media with a lengthy post denying the accusations. She wrote: “I 100 percent beg to differ the way he is literally attacking me in his interviews … the boy hates me and it is deep anger to literally say the things he is saying.” She also criticised Federline’s motives, suggesting he was trying to profit from her pain.

The singer has been rebuilding her relationship with Sean Preston and Jayden James after a period of estrangement. Federline’s book, You Thought You Knew, is due for release on October 21.
