Bridget Fonda, the 61-year-old actress known for her roles in 'The Godfather Part III' and 'Single White Female', made a rare public appearance in Los Angeles on Tuesday, showcasing a dramatic 75-pound weight loss. She wore a casual black-and-white outfit consisting of black slacks, a striped shirt, and a black cardigan, accessorised with a white tote bag, a yellow cross-body bag, and black sneakers.
Fonda, who retired from acting in the early 2000s after a car accident left her with two fractured vertebrae, has focused on raising her son Oliver, now 20, with husband Danny Elfman. She told the Daily Mail in 2023 that she has no interest in returning to the screen, saying it was 'too nice being a civilian'.
Despite her confident appearance, Fonda has been open about her struggles with self-esteem. In a 2000 interview, she said, 'What is it with my low self-esteem? I'm trying to be happy with my career. I think I should give myself a break, but I've got this bug that rides me.' In a 2023 interview with MovieMaker, she reflected on leaving Hollywood, stating, 'I measured myself against those who inspired me... Now I can have a good chuckle at my own expense.'
Fonda's son Oliver, described by his father as 'secretive' and 'like catching a photo of a hard-to-find rare animal', has accompanied Elfman to a few film premieres, including 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' in 2022.
