IMDb users voted for their top 250 shows ever made. The BBC documentary series Planet Earth earned three spots in the top 10, and the war series Band of Brothers came in fourth place. TV classics including The Sopranos earned the eighth spot, and The Wire came in sixth place. Breaking Bad beat the competition to come in first place.
About the Show
Created by Vince Gilligan, Breaking Bad was produced by Sony Pictures Television and originally premiered on the cable network AMC in the United States. The dark comedy series debuted in 2008 and ran for five seasons until 2013.
The crime drama stars Bryan Cranston as Walter White, a chemistry teacher diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer who turns to manufacturing and selling methamphetamine with former student Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) to secure his family's future. Over five seasons, Walter adopts the ruthless alter-ego "Heisenberg" and descends into the criminal underworld. His criminal activities—which expand from a small-scale RV cook operation to an international drug empire—cause major fractures in his marriage to Skyler and strain his relationship with his brother-in-law, DEA agent Hank Schrader.
