Brazilian television host Everaldo Marques came close to baring his chest in front of millions of World Cup viewers while presenting for TV Globo in Miami. The incident occurred during coverage of Brazil's 3-0 victory over Scotland in their final group match.
Hot Weather Sparks Awkward Moment
As the camera panned to Marques, he was seen fanning himself with his match notes, with sweat patches visible on his blue shirt. The heat in Miami was intense, with temperatures reaching 34°C and humidity making it feel like 43°C. Marques noticed his co-commentator, former Brazilian international Maestro Junior, laughing at his sweat patches while they were on air.
Marques quickly replied: "You're laughing, right Maestro? You're completely dry… for now!" The co-commentator then joked that things could have been worse for Marques were it not for the undershirt he was wearing.
Undoing Buttons Goes Wrong
In response, Marques undid some buttons to reveal a damp white vest. However, he undid too many buttons and came close to revealing his full chest, causing his colleague to giggle uncontrollably. As he opened his top, Marques said: "Look at this! It's not doing any good at all!"
The only positive for Marques is that he would not have been the only person in Miami struggling with the heat. The Florida host city has been one of the hottest venues in the tournament.
Brazil's Comfortable Win
Meanwhile, on the pitch, Brazil cruised to a 3-0 victory over Scotland. Vinicius Junior scored an emphatic brace in the first half, and Matheus Cunha put the match to bed in the 60th minute. Brazil qualified from Group C as group winners ahead of Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti. Carlo Ancelotti's side will face Japan in the round of 32.
