Miley Cyrus says mother Tish encouraged her to stay with 'wrong guys' because they were 'hot'

Miley Cyrus has revealed that her mother, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, encouraged her to remain in relationships with the 'wrong guys' simply because of their physical appearance. In a rare joint interview with her sisters Brandi and Noah, the singer discussed the family's dating philosophies as part of 'Cyrus lore'.

Tish, who divorced Billy Ray Cyrus in 2022 and married Dominic Purcell last year, defended her advice, saying it allowed Miley to at least 'look at somebody that's frigging hot' even if the relationship was flawed. However, Miley countered that she had to learn the hard way to prioritise respect over looks.

The 'Flowers' singer is now in a relationship with drummer Maxx Morando, whom she described as both 'hot as hell' and respectful. She added that her mother never placed respect high on her list of must-haves in a partner, forcing Miley to discover its importance on her own.

Brandi Cyrus noted that Tish has 'evolved' in her views, having found a partner in Purcell who is both attractive and respectful. The sisters agreed that their mother's new relationship reflects a healthier balance between physical attraction and mutual respect.
