Bouchard and Stuhlmann Reunite at Wimbledon
Eugenie Bouchard reunited with Rachel Stuhlmann, one of tennis' most prominent influencers, at Wimbledon this month. Stuhlmann, often called the 'world's sexiest tennis influencer', shared her Wimbledon escapades online, sending followers into a frenzy. The 34-year-old American content creator watched stars like Alexander Zverev, Iga Swiatek, and Elena Rybakina at the All England Club and caught up with former tennis star Bouchard.
Bouchard's Transition from Tennis to Broadcasting
Bouchard, who retired from tennis last year, is best known for her runner-up finish at Wimbledon in 2014, losing to Petra Kvitova. Since retiring, she has focused on pickleball and ventured into broadcasting, making her BBC debut at this year's Grand Slam. There was a chance Stuhlmann could have joined Bouchard on the BBC, as commentator John Lloyd said on the Rock n Roll Tennis Podcast in 2023: 'I work for the BBC, I'm going to put a recommendation, we need you on our team.' However, the opportunity never materialized.
Social Media Frenzy and Pimm's Review
Stuhlmann, who boasts over 2.2 million followers on Instagram, teamed up with Bouchard to produce content, including a drink review of Pimm's. She shared photos from Wimbledon, including a snap posing alongside an outdoor court, wearing a blue top and high-waisted white trousers. The caption read: 'Tennis heaven. How lucky am I to be able to do all that I do within the sport I love?' Fans flooded the comments, with one writing: 'You look like a super model,' and another adding: 'What a beautiful lady.'
Bouchard's Awkward Commentary Moment
During her punditry duties last Saturday covering Grigor Dimitrov's third-round win over Matteo Berrettini, Bouchard found herself in an awkward exchange. After Berrettini's tirade at his box, commentator Andrew Castle asked if she spoke Italian. Bouchard replied: 'I do not but I see a lot going back and forth between Berrettini and his box... Unfortunately only English and French I can do for you guys.' Castle quipped: 'I don't know, it's the Italian we're looking for Genie.' Bouchard joked: 'Is that it, am I fired?' The commentary box erupted in laughter, and Castle declared: 'That's it, thank you for coming, you're fired.' Bouchard rounded off: 'It was a good run, thank you for having me anyway. I'll just see myself out.'
