Anthony Loffredo, the French body modification enthusiast known as the 'black alien', has shared a rare photo showing what he looked like 15 years before his extreme transformation. The image, posted to his one million Instagram followers, contrasts sharply with his current appearance, which includes near-total tattoo coverage, removed ears, two amputated fingers, and subdermal implants that reshape his skull.
A Decade-Long Transformation
Loffredo has spent over a decade altering his appearance. Alongside his tattoos and implants, he has had his lip removed and ink injected into his eyeballs. In his post, he wrote: "BLACK ALIEN PROJECT – 15 YEARS OF EVOLUTION. For most, going this far in transforming their body is suicide. For me, it's audacity, a vision, and a dream I chose to realise."
He continued: "15 years of transformation, sacrifices, and conscious choices. I never sought to look like others, but to bring my own vision to life. My body became my canvas, my transformation became my identity." The tattoo addict added: "Not everyone will understand my path, and that's not the point. I dared to live my dream... 3, 2, 1, let the hate comments begin!"
From Young Man to 'Extra-Terrestrial'
The photo shows a younger Loffredo with dark hair, a goatee, a chiselled jawline, and piercing brown eyes, which he has since inked on numerous occasions. His stated aim throughout the transformation has been to become as "extra-terrestrial as possible."
Reactions to the post have been mixed. One follower commented: "Hmmm it's your life, live it man." Another wrote: "His evolution triggers most humans. He doesn't care, it's his body, his life, his dream, good for him." A third said: "Very sad to see such a handsome man do that to himself – if he's happy I guess that's all that matters though, but, IS he happy?"
Motivation Behind the Project
Loffredo previously appeared in a Channel 4 documentary in which he explained the origins of his project, saying he "wasn't happy" in his natural body. He stated: "Yes, [I was] happy, but not in the right body. It [wasn't] my body, my real body." Despite ongoing criticism, Loffredo has indicated his transformation is not yet complete.
