Nick Bateman, infamously known as 'Nasty Nick' from the first series of Big Brother, has opened up about his life after reality TV fame—and it's not what you'd expect. The 50-year-old, who became the show's first villain in 2000, has since traded the spotlight for the supernatural, pursuing a career as a paranormal investigator.
From Reality TV to Ghost Hunting
Bateman, who was ejected from the Big Brother house for rule-breaking, admitted he never anticipated the backlash that followed. 'It was brutal,' he recalled. 'I went from being a regular guy to public enemy number one overnight.'
Now, two decades later, he's found an unusual new passion: ghost hunting. 'I’ve always been fascinated by the unexplained,' Bateman explained. 'After Big Brother, I needed something completely different—and this felt like the perfect fit.'

Despite his notorious reputation, Bateman insists he’s moved on. 'I don’t regret Big Brother, but it’s not who I am anymore,' he said. These days, he splits his time between paranormal investigations and running a small business, far removed from the drama of reality TV.
