Croatian reality star Ava Karabatić has ignited fury after publicly asking her Instagram followers for €15,000 (£12,600) to finance a trip to the Maldives and new breast implants. The 38-year-old former Celebrity Big Brother contestant shared her bank details and IBAN on Instagram Stories, urging fans to transfer money directly.
Open Appeal for Cash
In her appeal, Karabatić wrote: "Dear ones, help me go to the Maldives and get bigger boobs. It’s always been my wish to go to the Maldives and I still haven’t gone." She claimed her current breast implants, fitted 20 years ago, need replacing because they were not made to last "like they do now," adding: "Every day is a risk because microplastic is slowly poisoning the body."
When critics accused her of begging, she retorted: "At least I’m honest. I could write that I need it for food and life, but why lie." According to Srpskainfo.com, she also admitted: "I’m not used to working" and has always had things handed to her.
Controversial Career
Karabatić, born in Split, Croatia, rose to fame in the 2010s as a "professional celebrity," appearing on major reality shows including Survivor, The Farm, and finishing third on Celebrity Big Brother (Veliki Brat). She boosted her profile with Playboy shoots and later presented late-night reality talk shows. Despite her reality persona, she holds a university degree in Italian language and Latin literature.
Political Ambitions
In 2019, she announced a run for President of Croatia, proposing mandatory sex education in schools, legalising prostitution to regulate and tax it, easing adoption laws, and stronger environmental protections. Her latest plea has drawn widespread criticism online, with many accusing her of entitlement.
