Da Brat, a friend of Usher, has denied reports of a feud between the singer and his former protege Justin Bieber. Speaking on The Rickey Smiley Show, she described the rumours as 'an exaggeration of conversation'.
Reports emerged earlier this month that the pair had a heated exchange at Beyoncé and Jay-Z's Oscars after-party, with some suggesting it escalated into a fist fight. However, no authorities were involved, and neither artist's camp confirmed the altercation.
Da Brat stated: 'I spoke to Usher, and he said this is an exaggeration of conversation. He’s been nothing but supportive of plenty of issues that Justin Bieber has had throughout the years... They definitely love each other.'
Usher and Bieber's relationship dates back to 2008, when Usher partnered with Scooter Braun to sign Bieber to their joint label. They later collaborated on songs like 'First Dance' and the 'Somebody To Love' remix. However, Bieber reportedly declined an offer to perform at Usher's 2024 Super Bowl halftime show and unfollowed him on social media the following year.
In related news, Usher has defended Sean 'Diddy' Combs, saying the disgraced mogul has been 'misrepresented'. Speaking to Forbes, Usher said: 'I don’t have anything negative to say about Sean Combs because my experience was not what the world has seen.'
