George Sampson, who won Britain's Got Talent in 2008 at the age of 14, looks almost unrecognisable almost two decades later. The dancer impressed judges and the public with his routines, then moved into the West End and music, releasing a DVD before his partnership with Simon Cowell ended about a year after his win.
He later turned to acting, starring in films such as StreetDance 3D and landing roles in television series including Waterloo Road and Emmerdale. Now 32, Sampson is preparing for another pantomime season, playing a prince in Sleeping Beauty at the Rhyl Pavilion alongside Sherrie Hewson and fellow BGT star Jon Courtenay.
A recent picture from the panto shows him with long hair and a royal cape, a marked change from his earlier look. On Instagram, he also shared a photo of himself in a Grinch jumper, with slicked-back hair, glasses and a moustache, captioned: "Christmas jumpers with my babies." Fans responded with comments such as "Why am I cutting onions?" and "Omg cuties."
Sampson has previously spoken openly about undergoing three hair transplants, spending £9,000 on the first two procedures. He told This Morning that he felt like "an old man with a babyface" and credited Wayne Rooney's hair restoration as inspiration. He also revealed a diagnosis of alopecia, attributing it to stress, heredity and the physical strain of head spins in his dance routines.
In addition to his changing hair, Sampson has altered his appearance with extensive tattoos, moving from a clean-cut image to full sleeve tattoos.
