Beyoncé Drops Surprise Single 'Morning Dew (Donk)'

Beyoncé has once again proven to be the queen of surprises, dropping a new song out of the blue this weekend and sending fans into hysteria. The Grammy-winning music icon, 44, released the track titled 'Morning Dew (Donk)' on July 4, 2026, to mark the Independence Day holiday weekend and another special anniversary.

New Music After Two-Year Wait

The song is Beyoncé's first new release in two years, following her acclaimed 2024 album 'Cowboy Carter', which was praised for its genre-blending and spotlighting Black pioneers' contributions to American music. That album was the second in a planned trilogy, following 'Renaissance' (2022). According to a press release, the drop also starts a 60-day countdown to her next birthday and the re-issue of 'B'DAY', her groundbreaking second album from 2006.

Song Details and Fan Nod

'Morning Dew (Donk)' was written by Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams, The-Dream, and Darius Dixon. The track is a sweet nod to her fanbase, the Beyhive, as it reworks an unreleased song called 'Donk' that surfaced online in 2013 and was originally intended for her self-titled studio album. That earlier version was also written by Beyoncé, The-Dream, and Pharrell.
