Christine Taylor has opened up about the breakdown of her marriage to Ben Stiller and how they reconciled after a five-year separation. The 54-year-old actress appeared on the McBride Rewind podcast, describing the split in 2017 as 'very difficult' and leaving her feeling 'heartbroken and disappointed'.
The couple, who married in 2000 and have two children, Ella (24) and Quinlin (20), remained in close contact during their separation. 'Through it all, we were always in contact,' Taylor said. 'We were co-parenting together. We were spending time together as a family.'
The turning point came during the Covid-19 pandemic when the family isolated together. Taylor described it as a 'silver lining', giving them time to work through their issues via Zoom therapy sessions. 'We really found the way back,' she said.
Taylor emphasised the importance of discussing marital struggles, noting that 'long-term marriages are a lot of work'. Stiller has previously spoken about feeling 'disconnected' during their time apart, but the couple now say their relationship is 'better than ever'.
