This Morning presenter Ben Shephard, 50, has faced ridicule over the name of his new skincare line, 'For Skin', which he launched earlier this year with fellow TV star Joel Dommett, 41. On Thursday, Shephard shared a video on Instagram showing his morning routine, including using the brand's cleanser and moisturiser while wearing only a towel.
In the clip, Shephard said: "A quick wash with our For Skin cleanser, which if I say so myself, I am absolutely loving. I follow this up with a cheeky little bit of For Skin moisturiser to keep my face smooth and glowing for work." However, viewers quickly pointed out that the brand name sounded like 'foreskin' when spoken quickly.
Fans React to the Name
One viewer commented: "Did anyone else hear 'foreskin' moisturiser?" Another wrote: "Am I hearing the name correctly lol." A third added: "You were brave calling it your forskin cleanser." The video, which shows Shephard getting dressed and heading to work at This Morning, has garnered widespread attention.
Coronation Street Fans Join In
Fans of ITV soap Coronation Street, where character Mary Taylor (played by Patti Clare) is known for her infatuation with Shephard, have called on scriptwriters to reference the brand. One fan wrote: "Eagerly awaiting Mary on Coronation Street making references to Ben Shepherd's forskin!" Another said: "Wait till Mary from Corrie hears about Ben and his ForeSkin! lol clever branding."
Brand Development
Earlier this year, Shephard and Dommett let fans choose the brand name, offering a 'sensible option', a 'fun option', and a 'more disruptive option'. On their podcast The Businessman, Shephard said: "We had the sensible option, we had a fun option, then we had the more disruptive option, didn't we?" Dommett replied: "And it seems people have gone for the more disruptive!" The brand's Instagram handle is @forskin official, and Shephard has promoted it as a simple, effective skincare range.
