During Thursday's (June 25) edition of This Morning, presenter Ben Shephard congratulated co-star Nick Ferrari on winning the TRIC award for Best Radio Talk Show. The award, presented by the Television and Radio Industries Club, recognized Ferrari's work on his LBC radio show.
Live On-Air Congratulations
Ben Shephard and co-host Cat Deeley were joined by Nick Ferrari and Sonia Sodha for the regular newspaper review segment. After an ad break, Shephard said: "Welcome back. Nick joins us today in the studio with Sonia to talk through more of today's stories." Before the segment began, Shephard added: "But first congratulations and congratulations to Mr Ferrari."
Ferrari responded: "Thank you very much." Shephard continued: "Storming the TRIC Awards," before joking: "You won sexiest male?" Everyone laughed as Ferrari replied: "I didn't want to… No, you know you got that. Come on." Shephard noted: "You celebrated with your team, as well." Ferrari confirmed: "Absolutely. Absolutely brilliant. Yes there were some of your This Morning friends there as well. It was a great day out and I’ve never won one, so now we can put that on." Cat Deeley added: "Congratulations."
TRIC Awards History
The Television and Radio Industries Club hosted its annual awards ceremony the previous night, recognizing excellence in British TV and radio. This year marked the first time the awards included a category for Best Radio Talk Show, with Nick Ferrari winning the top prize. The ceremony was presented by Classic FM's Dan Walker.
Following the win, Ferrari posted on Instagram: "Delighted to have won best Radio Talk Show @tricawardsuk presented to me by my good friend @janepmoore. Also caught up with my work wife @ashleylouisejames whilst raising much needed funds for @brightyoungdreams and @refugecharity."
