Ben Shephard made a rare public appearance with his wife Annie at the 2026 Raindance Film Festival in London on Thursday night. The This Morning star, 51, attended the world premiere of the documentary Hannah's Story alongside presenters Kate Garraway and Andrea McLean.
A Rare Night Out for the Couple
Shephard kept cool in the sweltering London heatwave, wearing a white linen shirt and white trousers. Annie looked elegant in a silky green shirt and skirt. The couple, who have been married since 2004, appeared as loved-up as ever on the red carpet.
The appearance comes just months after Shephard marked their 22nd wedding anniversary, calling Annie “the best thing to ever happen to me.” Sharing a selfie from their early days, he wrote: “So 22 yrs ago today @mrsannieshephard said 'oh go on then' and that was that! It might have taken me 9 yrs to realise it and to ask her to marry me but she's still the best thing to happen to me.”
Their Love Story
The couple met as students at the University of Birmingham. Shephard proposed in Paris in 2003, and they married the following year on a secluded island in south Devon. In 2020, they returned to their wedding venue, The Burgh Island Hotel, for a special meal, meeting the same barman who served them cocktails on their wedding day.
Shephard recently shared the secret to their long-lasting marriage in an interview with the Daily Mail's Weekend Magazine. “Annie was with me way before I got into telly,” he said. “She has been through everything with me, the highs and lows. She's exceptionally patient.” He added jokingly: “And I'm very patient with new shoes. What I really think is that we were great mates when we got together.”
Annie's Career
Annie has built a respected career as an interior designer and recently expanded into garden design. After studying at the London College of Garden Design, she unveiled her own show garden at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show in 2024. She regularly shares glimpses of the family’s stunning gravel garden at their home in Richmond on social media.
