Marc Anthony has spoken out for the first time about the Beckham family feud, following claims that he provoked tensions during Brooklyn Beckham's wedding to Nicola Peltz. The singer described the situation as 'extremely unfortunate' but insisted that reports of his involvement were 'hardly the truth'.
Last month, Brooklyn Beckham publicly accused his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, of trying to 'ruin' his relationship, citing an incident at his 2022 wedding where he claimed his mother 'hijacked' his first dance. DJ Fat Tony alleged that Marc Anthony, who performed at the wedding, called Victoria to the stage instead of Nicola, prompting the bride to leave in tears.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Anthony said: 'I have nothing to say about what's happening with the family. They're a wonderful, wonderful family. I've known them since before the kids were born. I'm godfather to Cruz. I'm really close to the family. But I have nothing to say about what happened there.'
Brooklyn had stated on Instagram that he felt 'uncomfortable and humiliated' during the dance, which he described as 'inappropriate'. His father-in-law, billionaire investor Nelson Peltz, advised the couple to 'stay the hell out of the press', while David and Victoria attended a Paris fashion event with their other children days after Brooklyn's statement.
Marc Anthony declined to comment further on the family rift, emphasising his long-standing friendship with the Beckhams.
