David Beckham delighted fans by sharing a sweet selfie with his mother Sandra Beckham on day one of the Wimbledon 2026 championships. The former footballer posted the image on Instagram, captioning it: "Another special day with Mum at Wimbledon, always one of my most favourite days of the year. Thank you @wimbledon for always making it perfect."

Star-Studded Royal Box

The mother-son duo were seated in the Royal Box at Centre Court, which accommodates approximately 80 guests daily. The seats are reserved for members of the Royal Family and invitees of Club Chair Deborah Jevans. Among the other notable guests were Great British Bake Off star Mary Berry, who was seen laughing with Sandra and David. Beckham joked on Instagram that the conversation likely revolved around his baking skills.

Other Celebrities at Wimbledon

The first day of the championships saw a host of celebrities enjoying the sunshine. Tess Daly arrived with her best friend and business partner Gayle Lawton, while Love Island star Maura Higgins posed in front of Centre Court. Ronan Keating, Niall Horan, and AJ Odudu were also spotted at the event.

Beckham's Birthday Tribute to Mum

The Wimbledon outing came just days after David wished his mother a happy birthday on social media. He shared throwback pictures and wrote: "Happy Birthday Mum, hope you have the best day cause if anyone deserves it it's you. Thank you for always being there for us all we love you so much. Oh and I'm sending a BECKHAM cup over to you as your gift. Love you Mum."

Family Feud Rumors

The Beckham family made headlines earlier this year when eldest son Brooklyn publicly addressed his strained relationship with the family. In a statement, he explained why he is no longer close to them. Asked about the situation, Victoria Beckham told The Wall Street Journal: "I think that we’ve always – we love our children so much. We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be, and you know, we’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children, and you know, that’s all I really want to say about it." David Beckham declined to comment on the feud, stating in another interview: "I’m sorry to stop you there, but that’s a private matter. That’s the one thing that I don’t want to talk about."
