Brooklyn Beckham has broken his silence on the rift with his parents, David and Victoria, in a lengthy Instagram statement. The 26-year-old confirmed he is estranged from them and does not wish to reconcile, blaming their disapproval of his wife, Nicola Peltz.
In the statement, Brooklyn claimed his family consistently disrespected Peltz and tried to 'ruin' their relationship. He said that the night before his wedding, family members told him Nicola was 'not blood' and 'not family'. He also alleged pressure to sign away rights to the Beckham name.
The feud escalated after brother Cruz posted an Instagram story rebutting claims that David and Victoria had unfollowed Brooklyn. Brooklyn responded that his brothers were 'sent to attack' him on social media and blocked him last summer.
Brooklyn cited his non-attendance at David's 50th birthday as a flashpoint, saying he and Nicola travelled to London but were 'rejected' by David, who allegedly only offered to meet at the party or without Nicola. When his family later visited Los Angeles, they 'refused to see me at all'.
David and Victoria have not yet responded. David was pictured at the World Economic Forum in Davos, reportedly struggling to put on a brave face.
