Princess Beatrice's 'Lack of Gratitude' to Prince William's 'Meaningful' Wedding Gesture
Beatrice's 'Lack of Gratitude' to William's Wedding Gesture

Princess Beatrice showed a 'lack of gratitude' in response to Prince William's 'meaningful' act at their cousin Peter Phillips' wedding, according to a body language expert.

William's Deliberate Gesture

When the Prince of Wales greeted Beatrice at the wedding, they exchanged a brief kiss on the cheek. Body language expert Judi James described William's action as 'effortful' and intentional, given his camera-shrewd nature.

James told the Mirror: 'William is a totally camera-shrewd royal. His marriage and his life with Kate has been media-managed to avoid any of the relentless soap opera that plagued his mother.' She added that William's public displays of affection are 'meaningful and deliberate.'

Comparison to Past Snubs

James referenced the Duchess of Kent's funeral in September, where William snubbed his uncle, Prince Andrew. 'William's rejection or cutting of Andrew at the Duchess of Kent's funeral when Andrew tried to sidle up next to him showed William's firm personal choices,' she said.

James explained that William's actions towards Beatrice at the wedding showed clear intent, as he made no effort to shy away from cameras despite the scandal surrounding the York sisters.

Beatrice's Response

Despite William's thoughtful gesture, James noted that Beatrice did not reciprocate fully. 'Beatrice looks away during the ritual in an act of distraction and her lips are pursed rather than relaxed in a fond smile. There's no response of either relief or gratitude from her here,' James said.

The wedding took place in Cirencester, attended by senior royals including King Charles and Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
