BBC's Rav Wilding splits from co-star girlfriend after two years

Rav Wilding, the 48-year-old host of BBC's Morning Live and Scam Interceptors, has split from his girlfriend and co-star Rebecca Mason after a two-year relationship, according to a source close to the couple. The pair are said to be keeping things professional at work.

Relationship timeline and meeting

Wilding and Mason began dating in 2024, just months after his separation from his wife of over a decade, Jill Morgan. The couple first met on the set of the BBC documentary series Ill Gotten Gains in 2020, where Wilding served as host and Mason appeared as herself. At that time, Wilding was still married to Morgan, who was pregnant with their daughter Poppy.

Wilding announced his split from Morgan in 2023 after 12 years together, and his romance with Mason developed shortly after. Mason, a police detective specializing in online romance fraud and scams, regularly appears on Morning Live to provide crime commentary and public advice. She has also featured on other BBC programmes, including Ill Gotten Gains.

Amicable split confirmed by source

A source told The Sun that the office romance has ended amicably. They stated: "Rav and Rebecca decided to amicably end their relationship a little while ago. There's no bad blood and they kept things civil, things had just run their course and they felt it was the right decision." The source added that the pair are maintaining a "professional at work" relationship, and that workmates are "sad to see them split."

Speculation about the separation was fueled by the disappearance of photographs featuring Mason from Wilding's Instagram account, although he continues to follow her. Mason's Instagram remains private.

Wilding's previous relationship and personal disclosures

Wilding's engagement to Top Gear producer Jill Morgan occurred in 2012, just seven months after they began dating. The couple married in May 2017 in Barbados. When announcing their split, Wilding wrote a brief statement: "For those asking questions myself and Jill amicably separated last year. Our focus is co-parenting our hugely loved and beautiful daughter."

Wilding has also been open about his neurodivergence. He disclosed on Morning Live that he is dyslexic and dyspraxic, and revealed an autism diagnosis from Simon Baron-Cohen in a televised documentary. Speaking to the Press Association, he explained: "I've got this thing called dyspraxia, so I have a hand-eye co-ordination disorder. I'm dyslexic as well, but dyspraxia is kind of like dyslexia with your hands." He added: "My brain just does not work that way. And the only way I can do anything is if I can see it, visualise it, literally see it with my eyes, what I am supposed to do... It's just the way my brain works. It was kind of tricky."

The Daily Star has contacted representatives for Rav and Rebecca seeking a response.
