Nina Warhurst Unveils New Bob Hairstyle
BBC Breakfast star Nina Warhurst has debuted a bold new haircut, taking to Instagram to show off her transformed look. The 45-year-old presenter, who has fronted BBC News at One since 2024, revealed she had her brown hair cut into a chin-length bob.
Warhurst explained that her inspiration came from actress Kristin Scott Thomas, who played Fiona in the 1994 romcom Four Weddings and a Funeral. However, she joked that the result was quite different from her intended style.
Joking Comparison to Tudor Figure
In her Instagram post, Warhurst humorously compared herself to Thomas Cromwell, the chief minister to King Henry VIII who was executed in 1540. She captioned the post: "You are one wash away from Tudor Chap!!!" and added: "Lest we forget. Please share with all the female 45 year old Thomas Cromwells in your life."
Fans quickly offered reassurance and compliments. One follower commented: "Wow you loving the new look." Another wrote: "It's gorgeous. Great haircut!" A third said: "That looks brilliant on you!"
Recent On-Air Concern
The haircut revelation comes days after viewers expressed concern over Warhurst's appearance during a broadcast, where she appeared with makeup on only one eye. Her left eye looked visibly swollen and makeup-free as she delivered the midday headlines.
Addressing the situation on Instagram, the Wythenshawe-born broadcaster shared an update with her 53,000 followers. "It's been a difficult week at work," she said, adding: "The stories affecting children have weighed heavy on all of us in the office. I'm having a gentle day with my little one, and we will go and say a prayer later for the ones who didn't get the start in life that every single child deserves."
She continued: "Weeks like this, I am proud of the teams at the BBC for listening to the unlistenable in court, allowing families' broken hearts to be seen, and their voices to be heard. Our journalists work hard to get it right, and inevitably sometimes it comes home. Children who suffer should never be forgotten."
In the comment section, Stacey Dooley wrote: "I can't even get past the first paragraphs without crying. It's incomprehensible. Sending love."
