BBC Radio 2 presenter Jo Whiley has recalled an awkward off-air encounter with Katie Price and Peter Andre, describing the former couple's contrasting reactions after they arrived late for a live interview.
Speaking on the Dig It podcast with co-host Zoe Ball, Whiley reflected on the incident while discussing Price's new documentary, Nothing To Hide. The documentary, which aired on Sky, features never-before-seen footage and interviews with those close to Price, but notably excludes Peter Andre.
Late Arrival and Contrasting Reactions
Whiley said she had booked Price and Andre to appear on her BBC Radio 1 show, but they arrived just five minutes before the program ended. "We'd booked her to come on to the Radio 1 show and it was live," Whiley recalled. "It was supposed to be her and Peter coming on the show and I kept advertising it, I was like, 'Katie Price and Peter Andre, they're going to be here soon'. And in the end, we just ran out of show, like they didn't turn up."
The presenter described a stark difference in their attitudes. "Peter was absolutely mortified, he couldn't have been more apologetic," Whiley said. "He was like, 'I am so sorry, things happened, we should've been here'. She didn't give a flying monkeys, she didn't care, she was like yeah whatever. And she was there but too late for the show, but it was a real contrast between the two of them, she was absolutely unapologetic."
Katie and Peter's Relationship History
Price and Andre met on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004 and married in 2005. They had two children together, Junior (now 21) and Princess (now 19), and starred in their reality series Katie and Peter. They separated in 2009 after four years of marriage. Price has since married three more times: to Alex Reid, Kieran Hayler, and most recently Lee Andrews. Andre married Emily MacDonagh in 2015, and they have three children.
Katie Price's New Documentary
Price's four-part documentary series, Nothing To Hide, provides an intimate look at her life, featuring interviews with ex-partners including Alex Reid, Dane Bowers, and Gareth Gates. A statement from Andre, shown at the end of the third episode, explained his absence: "I have chosen not to speak publicly about these matters out of love and respect for Junior and Princess. Today Katie and I maintain an amicable relationship in the interests of our children. I sincerely wish her happiness and peace for the future."
Sky described the series as combining "extraordinary unseen footage with first-time, candid testimony from those closest to Katie – family, friends, professional and personal relationships, and those who have entered her orbit over the past three decades."
