From nude hairdressers to starkers cleaners, some workers are stripping off to get the job done. Here's a roundup of some of the barmiest naked workers.
Nude hairdresser
Hairdresser Daniella Motta, from Florianopolis in Brazil's Santa Catarina region, charges customers an arm and a leg for having their haircut while she's in the nude. Standard trims start at 3000 Brazilian Lira, which translates to just shy of £450.
Daniella, who initially made her name as an adult actress and influencer before launching the nude barber shop, says she's fed up with her profession being overly sexualised, insisting that she views what she does as "art." The 21-year-old said: "I understand that it sparks curiosity, but I'm not doing anything wrong. Everything operates by appointment, with rules and respect. Nudity doesn't have to be treated as a scandal. To me, it's art, freedom and also a way of making a living."
Naked coders
In 2011, Nude House – a computer software company in Buckinghamshire – put out a call for female web coders who were "required to work in the nude from the time they arrive at work until they leave. Nude means no clothes whatsoever and no shoes either." The request came from the company's founder Chris Taylor, who at that point had been a naturist for 20 years. Chris reportedly wanted his office to be 'less male-dominated', and thought that getting women to strip naked would be the answer.
Cleaning while starkers
Nikki Belton, from Kent, was just an ordinary cleaner when she suddenly realised she could make a lot more cash if she took her clothes off. She formed the Naked Cleaning Company in 2020 and her employees have received tips of up to £100 on top of the £95 an hour nude rate and £75 figure for topless or lingerie. Nikki said: "It's about being body confident and making you feel good about yourself."
A cleaning company apparently taking it one step further than Nikki's is Bare Naked Cleaning, run by Penelope Wyser. Not only does Penelope tidy people's houses, she also tells clients they're a "naughty boy" while smoking and popping balloons. She even lets them watch her go to the toilet, saying she's "open-minded to all sorts of desires."
Bikini baristas
All across the US there are hundreds of 'bikini barista' establishments. Female baristas serve coffee to punters while wearing bikinis. Tanlines Coffee – one such shop in Los Angeles – says its workers generate a buzz, although they do have to look out for those who try and film them using Meta glasses or other nefarious tech. "For every hundred cool people, we get like one weirdo," one barista shared in a TikTok interview posted by @mystery_house. "You can always tell when it is Meta glasses," one employee explained. "Because when you ask them, 'Hey, could you take off your glasses?' they're like, 'Why? There's nothing wrong with them.'"
Trim your bush
In 2016, a gardening company called Trim Your Bush Gardening Services garnered international interest when they posted a picture of their employee Gary Warner naked up a ladder. It was shared around social media thousands of times. Gary and co. – from south London – started getting requests from the US to come and 'trim their bush', even though they rarely made it past Dartford.
