Engagement Announcement
Dr Syabira Yusoff, winner of the 2022 Great British Bake Off, has announced her engagement to long-term partner Bradley. The Malaysian-born baker shared the news on Instagram on Thursday, July 2, posting a photo of her diamond and gold engagement ring alongside a beach picture of the smiling couple.
Syabira, who lives in London and works as a cardiovascular research associate, captioned her post: "2026 is already shaping up to be such a beautiful year for @baldy_with_spectacles and me. I said yes to spending the rest of my life with this handsome, kind, and amazing man."
House Purchase Revealed
In addition to the engagement, Syabira revealed the couple have bought a house together. She wrote: "We're so excited to start this new chapter side by side. We can't wait to see what the future has in store for us. Here's to new beginnings, a home filled with love, and all the adventures waiting for us. We can't wait to share where we've decided to settle down next year!"
Flood of Support
The post was met with an outpouring of congratulations from friends and fans. ITV star Dr Amir Khan commented: "Wonderful news, congratulations." James Dewer added: "WHAT A YEAR!!! So happy for you." Fellow Bake Off winner Dr Rahul Mandal wrote: "Yaayyyy, congratulations." YouTuber Che Nom Normah Bakar posted: "Can't wait! Tahniah." Other fans praised the ring's elegance and wished the couple happiness.
Bake Off Victory
Syabira won the 2022 Channel 4 series, impressing judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith with her Orangutan Showstopper cake. She defeated finalists Abdul Rehman Sharif and Sandro Farmhouse. Speaking about her win at the time, she said: "Thank you so much. I can't believe it, honestly it hasn't sunk in yet, this is the biggest achievement in my life. All the hard work, all the trial and error, it has all been worth it. I am very very proud. I think I am coming out as a new person after this competition, I became more confident and I trusted my instincts. We can do anything we want as long as we have all of our heart and we work for it."
