Noah, one month premature, was transferred to the Santa Casa hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. He was awaiting transfer to another hospital for surgery when he suffered a cardiac and respiratory event.
Hospital Confirms CPR and Pronouncement of Death
The hospital confirmed that CPR was administered for 45 minutes. When efforts to save his life failed, Noah was pronounced dead that afternoon. The hospital stated: 'The Brazilian protocol for confirming death is recognised for its high standards of rigour and safety.'
Mother's Social Media Tribute
Letícia, who witnessed the event, later praised the hospital's care on social media, saying: 'We are contemplating God's greatness and admiring our little warrior, who continues to fight to get well. We fully believe in our miracle [...] miracles can't be explained; they must be experienced.'
Funeral Worker Discovers Movement
Hours later, funeral worker Regina Célia Paschoal discovered the infant moving inside the body bag. Speaking to EPTV, Regina, with 17 years of experience, recalled: 'I opened it, and the baby started moving even more; he was making a noise, as if trying to breathe.'
Colleague Mattheus Batagello corroborated, saying they initially questioned the cause of movement: 'It was a desperate moment, but also a relief, you know?' He alerted nurses after hearing 'a sort of hiccupping sound.' Once confirmed alive, Noah was readmitted to the neonatal unit.
Mother Learns of Miracle
Letícia, who had spent an hour with her son after his passing, recalled learning he was alive: 'When we arrived, we went back into the ICU, and they told us about our miracle. All I could do was say "Glory to God" and weep.' Noah's revival occurred on the day he was originally due to be born.
