Ariana Grande has revealed a new tattoo on the back of her right hand, depicting Glinda from the original L. Frank Baum book. The singer discussed the ink in an interview with Allure, explaining that she had waited a long time to fill that space on her hand.
Grande described the tattoo as a tribute to her role in the upcoming film adaptation of Wicked, calling the experience 'one of the most deeply special and transformative and fulfilling experiences of my creative life in London'. She added that the design felt 'very right' for the spot.
The new tattoo has sparked speculation about its connection to her rumoured relationship with co-star Ethan Slater, who played SpongeBob SquarePants on Broadway. However, Grande has not commented on any romantic implications, and the design appears to be a straightforward homage to her character.
Grande, who recently divorced, has a history of getting matching tattoos with partners, including Pete Davidson. The Wicked film is set for release in two parts, with Grande starring as Glinda.
