Former Manchester United winger Antony has been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar by his Real Betis teammate Marc Bartra. The Brazilian, who left United for £21.7m last summer, has revived his career in La Liga after a difficult spell at Old Trafford.
Antony, 25, joined United in 2022 for £82m but underwhelmed before being sold by Ruben Amorim. He scored nine goals for Betis on loan last season and has netted six with two assists in 11 appearances this term.
Bartra told Mundobetis: 'We’re seeing the real Antony again, even an improved Antony. I always say he’s a mix between Neymar and Cristiano. He has the same mentality as Cristiano, always striving for more and being very focused on the game.'
Antony previously said he felt 'disrespected' by United after being placed in Amorim's 'bomb squad' and forced to train separately. He said: 'They were very tough months in England... I feel like I was disrespected. I looked at my happiness first, because I know that when I’m happy, things turn out well.'
