Antonio Banderas, 65, has shared a rare photo with his ex-wife Melanie Griffith, 68, describing her as a 'lifelong friend'. The pair, who divorced in 2015 after nearly two decades of marriage, reunited in Los Angeles with their daughter Stella Banderas, 29, and her husband Alex Gruszynski.
The photo, posted on social media, shows the group sitting on a couch with Melanie laughing heartily between Stella and Alex, while Antonio beams at his daughter. 'A lovely and fun moment yesterday in Los Angeles with my son-in-law Alex, my daughter Stella, and my ex-wife and lifelong friend, Melanie,' he captioned the image.
The actor, who primarily lives in Spain, remains close with his former spouse. Their relationship ended in 2014 and the divorce was finalised the following year. They share one daughter, Stella, born in 1996, who is now pursuing a career behind the camera, according to a 2025 interview with HELLO!.
Through his marriage to Melanie, Banderas became a stepfather to her two older children: Alexander Griffith Bauer, from her marriage to Steven Bauer, and Dakota Johnson, from her reunion with first husband Don Johnson. Dakota is now a well-known actress, starring in films such as The Social Network and the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy.
Speaking about parenting in a previous interview, Banderas said: 'It's difficult to just give advice. If they ask you, you just kind of put on the table whatever your experience has been.' He added that Dakota 'created her own world, and that's the healthier way to do it'.
