Anne Diamond Gives Emotional Update on Eamonn Holmes' Health at TRIC Awards
Anne Diamond Shares Emotional Eamonn Holmes Health Update

Anne Diamond delivered an emotional health update on Eamonn Holmes at the TRIC Awards, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. The GB News presenter was unable to attend the ceremony, and Diamond took to the stage to inform attendees of his condition.

She said: "There are a couple of people who would love to be here but can't. Eamonn Holmes is not very well at the moment but he is doing well, he is recovering and we hope he will be back with us very soon."

GB News Wins Best News Programme for Fourth Consecutive Year

GB News secured the Award for Best News Programme for the fourth year running. Last year, Eamonn collected the award for Best News on behalf of GB News Breakfast, though his moment of triumph was overshadowed by some negative reactions from the audience.

After using a wheelchair ramp to reach the stage, Eamonn thanked the production team and viewers. However, the occasion was tarnished by audible boos from certain attendees following the announcement of GB News Breakfast's victory.

Eamonn Holmes' Health Struggles

Despite the mixed response, the Northern Irish presenter delivered a heartfelt tribute to fellow presenter Charli Peters, who had earlier received the News Presenter award for his investigative work on grooming gangs in the UK, reports the Mirror.

He also paid tribute to a colleague, though the conclusion of his speech became uncomfortable after an audience member heckled for Eamonn to 'get off'. Whether or not Eamonn caught wind of the heckling, he wrapped up his speech on a warm note, saying: "For the thousands of people who voted, that is brilliant for us so we say thank you, thank you, thank you, to anyone who did bother to vote."

His latest absence comes as the GB News presenter, 66, continues to battle health issues that have left him reliant on a wheelchair. In April, Eamonn suffered a stroke, though he reassured fans at the time that he was doing well.

Past Health Issues and Ongoing Treatment

Back in 2016, he underwent surgery on both hips to ease chronic pain in his hips, legs, and back. During his recovery, he tumbled down the stairs at his home, fracturing his shoulder. He subsequently endured a painful viral infection, which he attributed to stress caused by a tax dispute with HMRC. The infection resulted in a severe rash on his face and threatened his eyesight.

In May 2022, serious spinal problems led to bladder and bowel complications, resulting in a nine-day hospital stay. Then in November 2022, a fall at his Surrey home left him with another fractured shoulder, necessitating a further operation. He is currently exploring a range of treatments, including spinal injections and stem cell replacement therapy, as he continues his battle to regain his mobility.
