Anne Diamond Emotional Over Eamonn Holmes Health at TRIC Awards

Anne Diamond delivered an emotional update on her co-star Eamonn Holmes at the TRIC Awards, revealing that the presenter is 'not very well' and was unable to attend the ceremony. Speaking at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, Diamond addressed the audience: 'There are a couple of people who would love to be here but can’t. Eamonn Holmes is not very well at the moment but he is doing well, he is recovering and we hope he will be back with us very soon.'

GB News Wins Best News Programme for Fourth Year

GB News took home the Award for Best News Programme for the fourth consecutive year. Last year, Holmes accepted the award on behalf of GB News Breakfast but faced heckling from some in the crowd. Despite the mixed reaction, Holmes delivered a touching tribute to fellow presenter Charli Peters, who had earlier won the News Presenter award for his investigative work on grooming gangs.

During his speech last year, Holmes used a wheelchair ramp to access the stage and expressed gratitude to the production team and viewers. However, the moment was marred by audible boos from some attendees. An audience member heckled for Holmes to 'get off', but he concluded warmly: 'For the thousands of people who voted, that is brilliant for us so we say thank you, thank you, thank you, to anyone who did bother to vote.'

Holmes' Ongoing Health Struggles

Holmes, 66, continues to deal with significant health issues that have left him in a wheelchair. In April, he suffered a stroke but assured fans he was okay. His health challenges date back to 2016 when he underwent surgery for both hips to alleviate chronic pain. While recovering, he fell down the stairs at home and fractured his shoulder.

He later suffered a painful viral infection, which he attributed to stress from a tax dispute with HMRC. The infection caused a severe rash on his face and threatened his eyesight. In May 2022, severe spinal issues led to bladder and bowel problems, resulting in a nine-day hospital stay. In November 2022, another fall at his Surrey home fractured his shoulder, requiring further surgery. He continues to explore treatments, including spinal injections and stem cell replacement therapy, in an effort to regain mobility.
