Anna Richardson, the 52-year-old host of Naked Attraction, has revealed she is in a new relationship, a year after her split from comedian Sue Perkins. The presenter met her new partner through mutual friends, she explained, as she teams up with dating app Badoo to help singles improve their online dating messages.
Richardson shared details of her romance while discussing love languages. 'This morning, my boyfriend said to me, "I haven't spent enough time with you", so his love language is time,' she said. 'Whereas I quite like to receive texts saying, "I'm thinking about you and I love you".' She emphasised the importance of understanding a partner's needs.
The presenter's new relationship follows her separation from Perkins, 53, last year after seven years together. Before that, Richardson was in an 18-year relationship with drama director Charles Martin. She described meeting her current partner through friends as 'really, really lucky'.
Richardson is working with Badoo to address common dating app mistakes. Research by the brand found that 49% of single Brits have received poorly written messages, and 44% have ended a relationship because of it. She advised daters to take care with first impressions, proofread messages, and avoid overusing emojis or text speak.
'First impressions count,' Richardson said. 'Take the time and effort – don't rush. Take care with who you're communicating with.' She noted that 69% of daters are put off by lazy messaging, and 46% consider text speak inappropriate in 2022.
