Andi Peters experienced an amusing on-air slip-up during a live broadcast of ITV's Good Morning Britain on Thursday, July 2, 2026. The presenter, known for hosting the programme's competition segment, was reporting from the Tower of London when he momentarily forgot the name of his co-host, Adil Ray.
Awkward Moment Unfolds Live
While sharing historical facts about the Tower of London—including the centuries-old tradition requiring at least six ravens to reside there under royal command—Andi concluded his segment and turned back to the studio. He quickly acknowledged Ranvir Singh but then stalled when trying to identify her co-host. After a brief pause, he recalled it was Adil Ray, who has recently returned to the Good Morning Britain presenting desk, before continuing the broadcast.
The gaffe introduced an unplanned moment of levity to the programme, with the hosts accepting the confusion good-naturedly. Andi said: "OK, I'm off to St Paul's Cathedral now. Ranvir and ... who is on the show today?" Glancing at his crew for help, he appeared visibly perplexed. Ranvir obligingly prompted: "Adil," before Adil shouted in disbelief: "What?"
Andi Blames Lack of Sleep
Andi responded: "Sorry Adil, the thing is I didn't sleep last night. I just didn't sleep. And I can feel fog in my head today. What I was saying is..." Adil quipped: "It's absolutely fine, John." The light-hearted exchange was well-received by viewers.
It's hardly surprising Andi briefly forgot the presenting roster, as the Good Morning Britain hosting line-up has appeared somewhat different throughout the week. Ranvir Singh was paired with Ed Balls on Wednesday's show, while Kate Garraway joined forces with Ed to front Monday and Tuesday's broadcasts.
Adil Ray's Regular Presence on GMB
Adil Ray has remained a recognisable presence on the ITV breakfast programme, frequently filling in as a guest host over recent years. This morning, he shared a selfie with Ranvir captured in the GMB studio, captioned: "Good Morning Britain? Who's with us? What a morning @ranvirtv @gmb." Responding to the post, one viewer commented: "Lovely to see you back." Another stated: "Fantastic to see u back on @gmb Adil very smart and professional," while a third added: "Looking smooth m'man."
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
