Andi Oliver Still Furious Over Chris Moyles' Remarks About Her Daughter

Chef Andi Oliver has said she still loathes Chris Moyles for a segment on his Radio 1 show 25 years ago, when he asked listeners if they would 's**g' her then-16-year-old daughter Miquita. Oliver, now 62, admitted she has not forgiven the DJ, now 51, and has no intention of doing so.

Speaking to The iPaper, Oliver recalled the incident: 'Miquita was 16 and he had a phone-in on his show of: “Would you s**g her?” On Radio One. I wanted to kill him.' She acknowledged she still 'kind of' feels that way, adding that Moyles is one of the few people she loathes despite never meeting him.

Oliver said she never confronted Moyles about the behaviour, believing he would have tried to backtrack. She dismissed any notion that the passage of time excuses it, stating: 'I don’t care if it was the Noughties, when there was that awful lad culture where it was acceptable to talk about women like that.'

Singer Charlotte Church has also criticised Moyles, saying on a podcast in 2021 that there was a 'countdown' to her losing her virginity and that Moyles discussed it on air, calling it 'gross'.

Last year, Oliver addressed the Gregg Wallace scandal, telling the Guardian she was 'not surprised' by allegations of inappropriate sexual jokes. She said: 'There’s a certain culture that allows it to happen… And there are tonnes of others who go around behaving badly.' The BBC later acknowledged missed opportunities to address Wallace's behaviour over 19 years.
