Amanda Owen hits back at trolling over Clive split in Lorraine chat

Amanda Owen has hit out at the trolling she has received online following her marriage split from ex Clive Owen, admitting "you can't please everyone".

The stars of Our Yorkshire Farm announced they were going their separate ways in 2022 after a difficult period in their relationship, with Clive later acknowledging that the pressures of sudden television fame and changes in their lives contributed significantly to the breakdown.

Despite no longer being a romantic couple, they remain friends, co-parents and farming partners. They continue to maintain a strong working relationship, co-parenting their nine children and collaborating on television and farm renovation projects.

Amanda's Lorraine appearance

Amanda appeared on ITV talk show Lorraine on Tuesday (October 6) morning to chat to host Lorraine Kelly about the latest series of Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids, which follows the pair and their nine children as they balance daily life on their remote sheep farm, Ravenseat, with the ambitious multi-year renovation of a nearby derelict property named Anty John's.

Conversation later turned to Amanda and Clive's split after 22 years of marriage and their decision to continue working and living together. The TV star explained: "I feel like everyone is there goading, waiting for it to kick off or there'd be some huge fight.

"It's a really weird place to be in because if we got on like a house of fire we'd still be together but also being at each other's throats is not the way to be.

She continued: "I've taken a call today off Reuben and he's happily and busily laying down some concrete for Clive and his girlfriend and that's how I want it to be. That's how we've put it across on the television and it's so funny how you can't please everyone whatever you do."

New series and family loss

The fourth series of Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids kicked off on Monday (October 5) night on More4 and opened on Christmas Day 2025 at Ravenseat as the Owen family sat down to open their presents and tuck into their Christmas dinner.

The snow soon began to fall in Swaledale, with work continuing at Anty John's, over two years into the renovation. Elsewhere, Amanda also spoke about the recent loss of their beloved family dog, Chalky.

"We've had a couple of months without Chalky and it has been a little bit strange. You know, they're a part of the family. We'd had her for 14 years, you know, had her since she was a puppy," Amanda said.

"You get so used to putting little bowls of leftover bolognese on the side and the, sort of, green bit of cheese that she used to love, all that kind of stuff." Amanda then explained that the family had been given the opportunity to look after some beagle puppies for a friend.

She admitted: "I thought that might be a good way to, sort of, I don't know, fill the gap that Chalky left behind." 10-year-old Clemmy was then seen explaining to her dad, Clive: "We're gonna get some new puppies. We're not keeping them forever, but we have to look after them for a bit."

Amanda's youngest daughter, Nancy, then told the cameras: "Since we just lost Chalky, it would be nice for Sprout to have another friend. But hopefully, they don't devour Sprout." Later on, Amanda and Clive surprised their daughters with three new puppies.

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 9.30am and Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids is available to stream on Channel 4.
