Amanda Holden's social media rant leaves producer red-faced

Amanda Holden left her Heart Breakfast producer "red in the face" after pledging to "wipe everything" from her daughter's phone. The Britain's Got Talent judge, who shares daughters Lexi and Hollie with husband Chris Hughes, made the comments during an on-air discussion with co-presenter Jamie Theakston about youngsters' social media usage, and hinted she's not particularly fond of Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.

Speaking on today's instalment (June 12), Jamie mentioned Starmer's reported plans to impose a curfew on 16 and 17-year-olds using social media apps late at night, which Jamie said could be announced "as early as next Monday."

Amanda, who has daughters Lexi and Hollie with husband Chris Hughes, said she supported the proposal but felt "cynical" about the Prime Minister's motives and had "no idea" how it might be implemented.

The Britain's Got Talent judge said: "I mean, raising the age is something that I think every single person in this country is for. I don't know why Keir Starmer's taking so much time."

"I'm going to be very cynical and say he's doing it just cos he needs some sort of boost to his leadership. And if that's...if he's using it for that, then good luck, but we should still kick him out."

Jamie suggested that one of the main problems with the proposal is how "easy" it is to circumvent age checks on social media platforms. Amanda responded: "I don't know how they're going to legislate it. I've no idea. I have no idea."

"All I know is I'm wiping...I'm wiping everything on my daughter's phone. She has private accounts, but it's all going. She's gonna hate me, but I don't care."

Amanda added: "I know. I'm really ballsy about it because I... Keir Starmer and all that lot are getting on my nerves about it", as she switched gears and started moving on with the show.

However, as she carried on, she noticed something in the studio. "Oh, my producer's gone very red in the face. Sorry, I forgot it wasn't LBC; it's Heart Breakfast", Amanda added, slightly backtracking on her political rant.

Earlier this week, Amanda made a surprising revelation about her marriage live on air, sparking disbelief from Jamie. In a previous show, the media personality asked him what he believed was the key to a happy marriage.

Amanda then referred to research that highlighted the importance of kissing at least 10 times a week. She commented: "Which I think is quite low in seven days, even by my standards and my husband, who nags me all the time, would say you do that in a day, 10 kisses, probably."

Jamie responded: "You kiss your husband 10 times a day?" Laughing, she answered: "I would say so. Even if I gave him a Glaswegian one. Everyone in Scotland would know what that is. But yeah we do, we have a good old snog."

Jamie said he didn't believe her, but she responded: "What do you mean? I think that's the easiest thing to get out the way in a marriage."
