Amanda Holden's Christmas Mishap: Asleep on Kitchen Floor with Sherry
Amanda Holden Found Asleep on Floor After Christmas

Heart Radio presenter and Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has shared a hilarious and relatable story about a Christmas celebration that went a little too far last year. The 54-year-old television personality disclosed that her husband, Chris Hughes, discovered her fast asleep on the kitchen floor, still clutching a glass of sherry.

A Festive Slumber

Recounting the incident to the Daily Mail, Amanda explained the series of events that led to her unconventional nap. She had spent the entire day working hard in the kitchen, preparing and serving a full Christmas dinner for her family. After the meal, while in the midst of clearing up, she decided to take a brief rest. "I'd served dinner and was clearing up… granted with a sherry in hand!" she admitted.

Amanda described the moment she decided to sit down on the kitchen floor, leaning against a wall, for what she intended to be just a second. That second turned into a full-blown slumber, with the glass of sherry remaining securely in her hand the entire time. She joked that her husband loves to bring up the story and that there is likely photographic evidence of the incident somewhere.

Glamour and Gifting for Christmas 2024

This festive anecdote comes as Amanda stars in Baylis & Harding's dazzling new Christmas advert for 2024, titled 'Christmas Starts Here'. In the campaign, the TV star looks nothing short of spectacular, donning a shimmering gold gown that features a low-cut plunge and a sexy thigh-high split. The glamorous shoot showcases the brand's brand-new gifting range for 2025, with Amanda holding the products as the official Christmas Ambassador.

Amanda, who famously put her own decorations up on November 2nd this year, also shared her exciting plans for the upcoming holiday season. "I'll be spending time with the whole family at home," she said. "I look forward to it so much and the music will be playing in the kitchen, movies in the lounge and a glass in my hand! I always cook the roast on Christmas day." She added that while she and her 19-year-old daughter Lexi are vegetarian, she happily cooks a joint of meat for the rest of the family.

Ambassador Role and Favourite Products

Expressing her delight at her ongoing partnership with Baylis & Harding, Amanda stated, "I love being their Christmas Ambassador, it's my favourite time of the year." She highlighted some of her favourite products from their collection, including the Sweet Mandarin & Grapefruit range and the new Midnight Cherry gift stack, which she described as "rich, deliciously glam." She also noted that her husband Chris is a fan of the Fuzzy Duck range.

As part of her role, Amanda has curated her own selection of ten gifts for the brand's annual A-List. The new 30-second television advert, airing this week, gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at Amanda preparing for the festivities, culminating in a stunning costume change into a full-length sequin gown. For Amanda Holden, the message is clear: with Baylis & Harding, Christmas really does start here.
