Amanda Holden has dismissed suggestions that her daughter Lexi is a 'nepo baby', insisting her modelling success is down to hard work and talent. The Britain's Got Talent star said it is 'unfair' that the term is used in showbusiness.
Speaking to Radio Times, Holden argued that helping her child enter an industry is natural for any parent. She recalled how her own mother's connections helped her get a job in a fruit and vegetable shop when she was younger.
Holden, 53, has two daughters with husband Chris Hughes. Lexi, 19, recently signed with model agency Storm and completed her A-Levels last year. She is now at university and has walked her first catwalk.
The TV personality said her daughter's achievements are her own: 'They have to have talent and backbone, and work to succeed. I'm proud of my daughter.'
Lexi shares her fashion and modelling work on Instagram, where she has built a following as a style icon. Following her first catwalk, she thanked the designer for the opportunity, admitting she was 'absolutely terrified' but enjoyed the experience.
