Amanda Holden has jokingly admitted to taking advantage of her husband Chris Hughes' absences to carry out 'innocent' deeds he would not approve of, including redecorating rooms and disposing of his clothes.

During a discussion on Heart Radio, Holden's co-host Jamie Theakston revealed his wife Sophie had smuggled two cats into their home while he was away, prompting Holden to confess she shares a similar mindset.

'I love that she does that, it makes me feel better because when Chris goes away, I decorate a room or clear out his awful t-shirts, burn the crocs,' the 54-year-old presenter shared.

Holden, who is keen to rescue another puppy, added: 'I really do want to rescue another puppy you see, but Chris is putting his foot down at the moment.' The couple already share their home with two daughters, a rescue dog, and two cats.

She also revealed Chris has remarked: 'I don't know why you're asking me because you're going to do it anyway.'
