Amanda and Clive Owen announced their separation in 2022 after more than 20 years of marriage. The couple, who rose to fame on Channel 5's Our Yorkshire Farm, have nine children and continue to co-parent and work together professionally.
How Did Amanda and Clive Owen Meet?
The couple first crossed paths in 1995, when Amanda was 21 and Clive was 42. Clive was managing Ravenseat farm, while Amanda was living alone in a cottage and working as a shepherdess. Amanda later revealed on their show that she visited the farm to borrow a male sheep, known as a 'tup'.
“It was a slow burn thing,” Amanda said. “We kind of got to know each other. We made friends first then went out a little bit together.”
Marriage and Children
Amanda and Clive wed in 2000 in the Yorkshire village of Muker. Amanda rode a horse side-saddle to the ceremony. Clive recalled on Our Farm Next Door: “We had a bit of a do in Muker, didn't we? Aye, what a hell of a day we had!”
The couple have nine children: Raven (born 2001), Reuben, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clementine, and Nancy. Amanda told The Guardian she initially “had no dream to have an enormous family” and that “it just... happened.”
Rise to TV Fame
In 2009, the pair made their television debut in Wainwright Walks: Coast to Coast with Julia Bradbury, followed by The Dales in 2011. In 2018, they secured their own show, Our Yorkshire Farm, which ran for five series until 2022.
In 2024, they co-starred in Channel 4's Our Farm Next Door, which follows them renovating a rundown farm property. A repeat of the series airs on Friday July 3 at 8pm on Channel 4.
Separation and Co-Parenting
In 2022, Amanda announced their split on Instagram: “Clive and I are sad to confirm that we have made the difficult decision to separate. This hasn't been easy, but we both believe it's the right choice for the future of our family. Although we are no longer a couple, we continue to work on the farm and co-parent together, with our number one priority the happiness and well-being of our children.”
Despite the separation, they continue to work together. Clive said: “Me and Mandy, we have had a strange few years and we're now in a place where although we are not actually together, we are still in business together, we still have these kids together.” He added: “Me and Amanda, for some crazy reason it's worked alright. We're not together, but we can keep things going to suit everybody and that's what we intend to do.”
