Alien: Earth, the sci-fi horror series from Ridley Scott, has returned to the streaming top 10 ahead of its second season. The show first launched on Disney+ in 2025 to widespread acclaim, holding a 94% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Created by Noah Hawley of FX's Fargo, the series is set two years before the original 1979 Alien film. It begins with the crash landing of the deep-space research vessel USCSS Maginot on Earth. When a team investigates, they make a horrifying discovery that threatens the planet and humanity.
The cast includes Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, and Adarsh Gourav. Season 2 will feature newcomers Peter Dinklage and Timothy Olyphant.
Critical and audience response
Audiences have praised the show on Rotten Tomatoes. One five-star review called it “phenomenal,” adding: “It delivers the perfect blend of aliens, advanced technology, and revolutionary energy, but its real strength lies in its layered storytelling, compelling ideas, and a world that feels fully alive.” Another fan described it as “sublime” and “emotionally engaging and absolutely terrifying at times.” A third review simply read: “Absolute must watch for Alien movie lovers.”
