Alex Jones, the presenter of The One Show, has shared a series of romantic snaps from a surprise city break to Amsterdam with her husband Charlie Thomson. The couple, who married in 2015, enjoyed a mini getaway over the weekend as Alex celebrated her 46th birthday.
In one sweet photograph, Charlie planted a kiss on Alex's cheek while they enjoyed a drink by the canal. The Welsh presenter also posted a selfie with her husband, captioning it: 'Thank you so much for all the birthday messages. Kicked off a brand new year wandering around the canals in Amsterdam in the sunshine with my favourite adult.'
Alex's co-host Ronan Keating and friend Gethin Jones were among those sending birthday wishes. The couple's trip included food and drink, a boat ride, sightseeing and downtime, before returning home to their three children on Mother's Day.
Last year, Charlie surprised Alex with a mystery trip to Paris for her birthday. She documented the journey, initially unsure of the destination, before discovering they were heading to the French capital.
