During the June 26 episode of The One Show, hosts Alex Jones and JB Gill congratulated guest Annabel Croft on the arrival of her second grandchild. The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant appeared alongside Gavin and Stacey actors Joanna Page and Mathew Horne, Pointless host Alexander Armstrong, and tennis icon Annabel Croft.
Annabel Croft Welcomes Granddaughter Cosima
Just minutes into the programme, Alex opened the conversation: "Now, Annabel, the thing is, every time you come here, you seem to have a new grandchild. Congratulations!" Annabel responded: "I do! She's called Cosima and she's about three weeks old and she's absolutely gorgeous. She's so delicate and beautiful, and I'm loving being Gran-Annabel!"
Alex then joked: "Gran-Annabel! It's a good job you didn't bring her because, with me and Joanna here, you would never of seen her again!" Joanna added: "I'd have swept her off, given her cwtches!" and JB concluded: "Aw, I love that title Gran-Annabel as well."
Family Details and Previous Grandchild
Annabel's son Charlie and his wife Honour Wainwright welcomed Cosima earlier in June. The baby is named after both her grandmothers. Annabel previously told the Daily Mail: "Cosima is named after both her amazing grannies. Honour's mother goes by Annie, while her real name is Elizabeth." Cosima is Annabel's second grandchild in under a year; her daughter Amber Rose gave birth to a son named Arlo William Melvyn Llewellyn in September 2025.
The One Show Announces Summer Hiatus
Later in the episode, Alex announced that The One Show would take a four-week summer break. She said: "It is our last show before we take a four-week break, so tonight, we are gonna be celebrating some of our highlights of the year so far." She confirmed: "The One Show will be back on Monday, July 27 with another great line-up of guests. We will see you then! Stay cool in the heat, bye!"
The One Show airs weeknights on BBC One at 7pm.
