Comedian Alan Carr has already delivered what fans are calling the television highlight of 2026, thanks to a spectacularly clumsy waterslide incident on his new BBC show.
Chaos on The Black Hole
The hilarious moment occurred during Amanda & Alan's Greek Job on BBC One, which aired on Monday, 5th January 2026. While taking a break from renovating a property, co-host Amanda Holden, 54, persuaded a reluctant Alan Carr, 49, to tackle a slide named 'The Black Hole'.
After nervously asking a lifeguard to "pray for him", the Celebrity Traitors champion pushed off in a large rubber ring. The ride quickly went awry, with Carr being flipped headfirst out of the inflatable and hurtling down the pitch-black tunnel to emerge in a dishevelled heap, much to Holden's amusement.
Social Media Erupts with Praise
Viewers instantly took to social media platforms like X and Instagram to celebrate the clip. Many declared it the standout TV moment of the year, despite it being only the first week of January.
One fan posted on X: "Alan Carr with the highlight of the year already?!" Another agreed, writing: "I know it’s only January 5th but Alan Carr falling out of a rubber ring on a water slide is TV moment of the year". The widely shared clip shows Carr being comforted by a laughing Holden, who wraps him in a towel.
A Winning Streak Continues
This viral success follows a triumphant 2025 for Carr, during which he won Celebrity Traitors, was tipped as a potential new host for Strictly Come Dancing, and saw the third series of his sitcom Changing Ends air. Although linked to the Strictly presenting role, it recently emerged his 2027 tour schedule clashes with the BBC show.
Amanda & Alan's Greek Job marks Carr's first TV project of 2026. He is also set to appear in a Channel 4 competition with Susie Dent and compete in Amazon Prime's LOL: Last One Laughing UK.
