Martin Lewis has issued a witty response after comedian Alan Carr made a crude joke about him on the Prime Video show Last One Laughing. Carr, appearing on the show's second episode, told fellow contestants: "It's not who you know, it's who you blow. You know who told me that? Martin Lewis, the money man."
The Money Saving Expert founder took to social media after the episode aired on Monday night, acknowledging the gag. He wrote: "Many people asking me did I see what Alan Carr said about me on Last One Laughing. I have indeed, I love the show. And I did indeed tell him that, it's what made me the man I am today!" He added that it was "an inside joke (quite literally in some respects)" for those who watch the programme.
Last One Laughing, hosted by Jimmy Carr, challenges comedians to make each other laugh without smiling themselves. The second series features an all-star line-up including Sam Campbell, Diane Morgan, Romesh Ranganathan, David Mitchell, and reigning champion Bob Mortimer. New episodes are released weekly, with episodes four and five dropping on March 26 and the final on April 2.
The show has been a major success, becoming Prime Video's most successful UK debut ever. A third series and a Halloween special have already been commissioned. Viewers can catch up on previous episodes via the streaming service.
