Love Island Fans Stunned as Aidan Murphy Breaks Season 13 Coupling Record
Aidan Murphy Breaks Love Island Season 13 Coupling Record

Love Island viewers have been left stunned after realising that Aidan Murphy has quietly broken a Season 13 record for the most pairings by a single Islander. The 23-year-old estate agent, who was part of this summer's original line-up, has coupled with seven different women throughout the series, forming a new partnership nearly every week since entering the villa.

Aidan's Rocky Journey in the Villa

Aidan's journey has been far from smooth. He initially paired up with fan favourite Ellie Chadwick before switching to bombshell Yasmin Hadlow. His younger brother, Kavan, then entered the villa in a shocking twist and began pursuing Ellie. Shortly after, Aidan experienced his second villa breakup from Yasmin and coupled with new arrival Namibia Rosa. He went on to pair with Tina Rad, Priya Jaswal, and Casa Amor contestant Martha Rothwell. In the latest recoupling ceremony, he was chosen by recent entrant Elicia Bailey.

Breaking the Record

With the ITV finale just days away, viewers have noticed that Aidan has shattered the record for most pairings this series. Last season, it was Conor Phillips who held the record after linking up with nine contestants, including his current partner Megan Forte-Clarke. ITV posted a graphic showing that Helena Ford came second with only six couples. This series, Priya sits in second place with five pairings.

An ITV viewer posted a video montage of Aidan's recouplings on TikTok, captioned: "Convinced Aidan is attempting to break the record for most couples." The video has garnered over 118,000 likes, with fans flocking to the comments section to express their disbelief.

Fan Reactions

One viewer wrote: "How's he actually lasted this long," while another agreed: "Genuinely don't understand how he's still there." Some fans had even forgotten about some of his former villa partners. "Omg forgot about him and mibs [Namibia]," one remarked, and another said: "Lowkey forgot him and Namibia were a thing."

Love Island airs Sundays to Fridays at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
